| Below are answers to many common questions
about our programs. Please call us if you have others.
Q. How can I sign up for a class?
A. You can register for our programs online
24/7 at www.chefmakers.com or in person at our store. Payment
can be made with any major credit card. All class registrations
will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We limit
the number of participants for each class to ensure an extraordinary
experience every time you visit Chefmakers. Payment is required
at the time of registration. We are unable to hold a place
in class without payment.
Q. What if a class is full?
A. If a class is full, you may sign up on
a waiting list. In the event of an opening in the class, we
will notify you by e-mail or phone in the waiting list order.
Be sure to leave best possible contact information, if we
cannot reach you we will move down the list until the space
is filled.
Q. What should I expect in class?
A. Chefmakers philosophy is to provide you
with a real “hands-on” cooking experience and
the majority of our programs are designed to do that. We also
offer demonstration classes which allow you to sit back and
relax while you listen to and watch our instructors. The class
description will indicate whether it is a “hands-on”
or “demonstration” type of program. All programs
include samples of the food you or the instructor prepares
along with recipes. Portion sizes vary from class to class,
ranging from tastes to meal size portions. Please arrive no
later than 10 minutes prior to the start of class time. We
reserve the right to alter menus due to seasonal availability
of ingredients.
Q. Are these classes for beginners?
Do I have to know how
to cook?
A. Our classes are intended for all levels
of experience, from beginners to those who have been cooking
for years. In every class you will learn the recipes, tips
and techniques for everyday cooking and explore the “how
& why” behind the recipes.
Q. What should I wear?
A. In the interest of health & safety,
we ask all students participating in our “hands-on”
classes to wear long pants, closed shoes with rubber soles
and to tie back long hair. Our kitchen is air conditioned
for the comfort of our participants and instructors. Accordingly,
you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket. Chefmakers
will provide you with an apron to use during all “hands-on”
classes.
Q. Is there a student discount for
items in your store?
A. On the day of class, students receive
a 10% discount on all merchandise purchased, except for small
electric appliances where students receive a 5% discount.
Q. Do I stay with my kids or can
I drop them and leave?
A. With the exception of the Mommy &
Daddy & Me classes all other Junior Chef classes are for
kids only. For the enjoyment of our young chefs, parents are
encouraged to go enjoy themselves elsewhere. Please arrive
at least 10 minutes prior to class start time for drop off
and no later than 10 minutes after the end of class to pick
up your chefs. All parents will be required to provide proper
identification before they can pick up their kids. For everyone’s
protection, we are very strict with our security procedures
and appreciate in advance your patience and cooperation.
Q. What if I cannot attend a class?
A. If you are unable to attend a class, please
make sure to notify us 72 hours in advance so we can issue
you a credit for another class. Alternatively, you may send
someone in your place. Please let us know the name of the
person taking your place so we can provide them with the highest
quality experience. Since we must order food in advance for
each registered guest and to accommodate others that may be
on our waiting list, after the 72 hour time, no credit will
be given. We do not provide refunds unless a class is cancelled.
Q. What if a class is cancelled?
A. Unfortunately, there are times when we
may need to cancel or reschedule a class due to insufficient
interest or the unavailability of an instructor. If this happens
you can choose to receive a credit for another class or a
full refund.
